Moosh is a macOS storage inspector and cleaner operated from Portugal. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle when you use the Moosh website, account, licensing API, and Mac app (together, the “Service”).
1. Information we handle
Account and purchase information
When you create an account or buy a license, we handle your email address, account identifiers, license records, purchase and checkout identifiers, and the information needed to deliver and support your license. Stripe processes payment details on our behalf; Moosh does not receive or store your full card number.
Device and licensing information
The Mac app may send a privacy-preserving device identifier, an optional device label, the Moosh major version, and license information to activate and refresh a license. Device identifiers are generated by the app and stored as hashes. We do not ask for or store hardware serial numbers.
Scan and cleanup information
Moosh is local by default. File names, paths, scan results, cleanup selections, and cleanup history are designed to remain on your Mac. The website and licensing API do not need those details to provide a license.
Website and security information
We process essential session and CSRF cookies, request timestamps, basic network information, and error or security logs needed to operate and protect the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and secure accounts;
- process purchases and deliver or recover license information;
- activate, refresh, and protect licenses from unauthorized use;
- operate, troubleshoot, and secure the website and API;
- comply with legal obligations and respond to support requests.
We do not sell personal information or use scan paths and file names for advertising.
3. Service providers
We use infrastructure and service providers such as Cloudflare for hosting, database, email, and security infrastructure, and Stripe for checkout and payment processing. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services and under their own applicable policies.
4. Retention
We retain account and license records while they are needed to provide the Service, comply with accounting and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. Session and magic-link credentials are short-lived. We remove or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, subject to required retention.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. Some license and purchase records may need to be retained after account deletion for legal, fraud-prevention, or transaction reasons.
